Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of fire suppression covers designed for rapid smothering to enhance fire safety across GTM stations and municipal workstations. The project aims to provide ready-to-install, durable, and compliant fire suppression units that can be manually deployed in the event of small-scale fires, thereby improving emergency response capabilities within the municipality.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of fire suppression covers suitable for 50 municipal workstations and satellite sites.
• Supply of ready-to-install, fit-for-purpose fire suppression units that meet relevant South African standards.
• Delivery of the units to specified municipal locations.
• Installation and deployment readiness of the supplied fire covers.

The scope also encompasses compliance with technical standards, ensuring materials are suitable for high-temperature environments and capable of immediate manual deployment during fire incidents.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the fire suppression covers include:

• Materials must be compliant with South African standards and practices, capable of withstanding high temperatures.
• Units must be ready-to-install, durable, and fit-for-purpose for immediate manual deployment.
• Coverage must be suitable for small-scale fire outbreaks across municipal workstations and satellite sites.
• Supplied materials should meet relevant standards such as SANS 1869 or equivalent.

Additionally, the products must be compliant with all relevant safety and quality standards to ensure effective fire suppression.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Relevant work experience in supplying and delivering fire suppression equipment, with at least 3 years of similar experience (minimum of 2 appointment letters or orders).
• Key personnel must possess occupational health and safety qualifications in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, and relevant standards such as GSR.
• Compliance with SANS 1869 or equivalent standards for fire safety equipment.
• Ability to provide a summary presentation demonstrating company experience, key personnel qualifications, and compliance with safety standards.

Preference points will be awarded based on company experience, personnel qualifications, and compliance with occupational health and safety standards, with a focus on black ownership as per the specific goals criteria.
