Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure the supply and delivery of fuses, relays, contactors, and circuit breakers to Matimba Power Station over a period of five (5) years, on an as-and-when required basis.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of electrical consumables including:

• Fuses
• Relays
• Contactors
• Circuit breakers

Deliveries are to be made to Matimba Power Station, with the contract spanning five years, accommodating flexible, as-needed orders, and ensuring timely supply of specified electrical components.

Technical Requirements

The technical criteria include:

• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorization agreements covering at least 60% of the scope of work, confirming the supplier’s authorization to supply the specified items.
• Proof of successful supply of at least 5 orders (50% of scope items) accepted by clients within the past 5 years, with supporting delivery notes.
• Delivery capability with proof of at least 3 to 4 orders in the last 5 years, demonstrating capacity to meet delivery lead times.
• Lead times for delivery:
  • < 8 weeks with confirmation letter
  • 8-12 weeks with methodology submission
  • > 12 weeks with detailed methodology
• Packaging and preservation methods compliant with Eskom’s specifications, including detailed packaging and preservation procedures.
• Compliance with safety, quality management (ISO 9001 or equivalent), environmental standards, and relevant legal requirements.
• Demonstrated capacity through technical and qualitative assessments, including experience and capability.

Skills and Skills-Related Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Authorization from OEMs for the supply of relevant electrical components.
• Proven delivery performance with at least 5 successful orders accepted by clients in the last 5 years.
• Capability to meet specified lead times and detailed delivery methodologies.
• Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, including ISO 9001 certification or equivalent.
• Experience in handling electrical consumables, with relevant technical expertise and capacity to deliver on contractual requirements.
• Implementation of packaging, preservation, and labeling standards as per Eskom’s specifications.
• Ability to provide detailed technical documentation, including delivery notes, order acceptance, and methodologies for lead times and packaging.
