UMGENI WATER INVITES TENDERS FOR MKONDENI TRAINING ROOM, CAFETERIA AND REGIONAL OFFICE UPGRADE
It is estimated that tenderers should have a cidb contractor grading of 6GB.
Preferences are offered to tenderers who 6GB
Only tenderers who a)Tenderers are required to achieve a stipulated minimum threshold of seventy (70) percent for locally produced
valves and actuators, and ninety (90) percent for locally produced electrical cables as designated by the Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI) for Local Production and Content.
b)The Tenderer or any of its directors/shareholders is not listed on the Register of Tender Defaulters in terms of the Prevention and
Combating of Corrupt Activities Act of 2004 as a person prohibited from doing business with the public sector;
c)The Tenderer has not:
i)abused the Employer’s Supply Chain Management System; or
ii)failed to perform on any previous contract and has been given a written notice to this effect;
d)The Tenderer has completed and signed the Declaration of Interest and there are no conflicts of interest which may impact on the
Tenderer’s ability to perform the contract in the best interests of the Purchaser or potentially compromise the tender process and
persons in the employ of the state are permitted to submit tenders or participate in the contract;
e)The Tenderer has completed and signed the Declaration of Independent Tender Determination and has arrived at the accompanying
tender independently from, and without consultation, communication, agreement or arrangement with any competitor.
f)Tenderers are required to achieve at least 35% Contract Participation Goals (CPG) including a minimum 5% Black Women
Participation of the value of goods, services and Works paid to one or more Enterprises (CPG Partner/s) as agreed with Umgeni Water
before contract award. Tenderers who are the main contractor (irrespective of BBBEE classification) are not exempt from this
requirement and are still required to have a CPG Partner.
g)The Tenderer must have a CIDB grading of 6GB or higher
are eligible to submit tenders.

A non-refundable tender deposit of R500.00 payable by proof of deposit is required on collection of the Tender documents.

A non-refundable tender fee of R 500.00 payable by Electronic Fund Transfer before collection of the Tender Document is required.

A compulsory clarification meeting with representitives of the Employer will take place at Umgeni Water 7 Portland Road, Mkondeni on
2019/12/10 starting at 10h00.
The closing time for receipt of Tenders is 12h00 on Thursday, 23 January 2020.
Telephonic, Telegraphic, Telex, Facsimile, Emailed and Late Tenders will not be accepted.
Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued.
