Briefing Session
A Compulsory  briefing session will be held on:
Date: 31 March 2020
Time: 10H00AM
Venue: A compulsory pre-proposal site inspection and briefing session will be conducted at the Transnet Infra Depot, Corner Paterson & Broad Street, North End, Port Elizabeth on the 31st of March 2020 at 10h00 for a period of ± 1 hour. Note: Immediately after the compulsory briefing session, all respondents will depart to the Brakrivier substation, which is +/- 25km from Port Elizabeth. Note: Respondents will have to travel on a gravel service road to the substation and it will be advisable to make us of a “bakkie”.

 

All people entering Transnet premises may be subjected to a substance abuse test. This is a standard safety requirement for TFR, when entering any operational area in order that TFR may address the risk of injury. Any person that fails such test will not be permitted to enter the premises and thereby forfeits rights to be allowed access to the briefing / site inspection session and will subsequently not be permitted to submit a bid for the RFQ.

 

All respondents attending the briefing / site inspection session are also required to wear safety boots or safety shoes and a reflective jacket for safety reasons in order to gain access to Transnet’s premises. Respondents failing to comply with these requirements will not be allowed to enter the Transnet premises on the day of the briefing / site inspection session.

Special Conditions: : A non-refundable tender fee of R100.00 is applicable per tender document.

4.     If Bidders intend to download the RFP/RFQ from the National Treasury eTender Publication Portal at www.etenders.gov.za, free of charge they are required to send their contact details to the following address: [email protected] by Monday,                         30 March 2020 at 15:00. This is to ensure that any required communication (e.g. addenda to the RFP/RFQ) in relation to this RFQ reaches those intending to respond.

Transnet will not be held liable if Bidders do not respond by this date and do not receive the latest information regarding this RFQ as a result thereof.

 

Additional Special Conditions

In terms of paragraph 3 of the NATIONAL TREASURY SCM INSTRUCTION NO 4 OF 2016/2017, which became effective on 1 May 2016, Transnet must ensure that:  Suppliers of Transnet are registered on the Central Supplier Database [CSD] before any procurement related activities commences;   The CSD can be used as the single list of prospective suppliers for Transnet

Furthermore, according to paragraph 5.6 Transnet may only award bids to suppliers after verifying that the supplier is registered as prospective suppliers on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database.
