Where bid documents can be obtained:

A set of tender documents may be obtained from the Theewaterskloof Municipality, Technical Services Department, 26 Kerk Street, Caledon from Friday, 30 October 2020 during office hours, Monday to Thursday, 07:45 to 13:00 and 13:45 to 16:45 and Fridays 07:45 to 13:00 and 13:45 to 15:30. Payment of a non-refundable tender participation fee of R500.00 (VAT inclusive) is applicable. This is an eligibility criterion and is payable by means of electronic transfer or direct deposit only. Enquiries in this regard can be referred to Mr. Hanro September at [email protected]. Proof of Payment for the tender participation fee should be included in the Tender documentation submitted.

Where bids should be delivered:

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 12:00 on Friday, 04 December 2020, at Theewaterskloof Municipality, 6 Plein Street, Caledon. Tenders, in sealed envelopes, marked (TENDER ENG 14/2020/21), UPGRADE AND REFURBISHMENT OF THE CALEDON WASTEWATER TREATMENT WORKS (PHASE 4 – MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL WORKS), must be placed in Tender Box No. 1, located at the main entrance of Theewaterskloof Municipality, 6 Plein Street, Caledon. Please note that the tender box is open 24/7 and that the deposit slot opening is 5 x 30 cm. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, electronic / email and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that has been issued.

Briefing Session

All prospective tenderers will meet at the offices of the Theewaterskloof Municipality, Technical Services Directorate 26 Kerk Street, Caledon on Friday, 13 November 2020 at 10:00 for a compulsory tender clarification meeting, after which a compulsory site visit with representatives of the Employer will take place to the site of the Caledon WWTW. Prospective tenderers who arrive later than 10:15 will not be allowed into the clarification meeting. Tenderers should be represented at the clarification/ site visit meeting by a person who is suitably qualified and experienced to comprehend the implications of the work involved.

Special Conditions:

NB: This tender is also subject to Local Content Criteria as defined by the Department of Trade & Industry. Only locally produced or locally manufactured goods, works and services with the stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered. Schedule 2E(B) must be completed in this regard.
