T 1.1       INVITATION FOR QUOTATION TO UNDERTAKE AN INDEPENDENT ROAD SAFETY AUDIT

Naidu Consulting was appointed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) for the Detailed Design and Construction Monitoring of the Upgrade to National Route 3 Section 3 between Ashburton Interchange (Km 0.8) and Murray Road (Km 6.0). The project falls within the Msunduzi Municipality.

The Project is located on the National Route 3, Section 3 between the Ashburton Interchange (Km 0.8) and ends just south-east of Murray Road overpass bridge (Km 6.0). The design incorporates the increase in the capacity to reduce the current congestion levels on the N3 in the northbound and the southbound directions, the upgrading and widening of 2 lanes including a climbing lane on the N3/3, as well as incorporating the upgrade of the Ashburton Interchange (Km 1.8).  A Stage 3 road safety audit is required on the detailed designs.

Only Consulting Engineering Firms with a B-BBEE contributor status level of 1 or 2, are eligible to submit quotations.

Firms with road safety and traffic engineering experience are therefore invited to submit a quote to undertake an independent Road Safety Audit. A clarification meeting will not be held, but it is essential that prospective tenderers familiarise themselves with the site.

The closing time and date for submission of quotations is 14h00 on 1 November 2019.

The quotation closes at the SANRAL’s Eastern Regional office at 58 Van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, 3201. Location of tender box: Registry office.

Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, e-mail, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted.
