Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure gardening services at Queenstown Ambulance Base (EMS) for a period of 36 months. The services aim to maintain the grounds, gardens, and associated facilities to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that supports the operational needs of the EMS base.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of two gardeners to maintain approximately 11,000 square meters of grounds.
• Grass cutting and general garden maintenance.
• Maintaining the wash bay by keeping it clean and unblocked daily.
• Daily cleaning of grounds from litter.
• Sweeping paving areas within the grounds.
• Provision of all necessary equipment and protective gear.
• Supervision and management of gardeners, including weekly checks.
• Adherence to specified working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with breaks.
• Replacement of gardeners if not satisfied with their performance or conduct.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of qualified, honest, reliable, and healthy gardeners with good work records.
• Gardener appearance: neat and tidy, wearing a uniform marked with the company name, comfortable shoes, and sun protection (hat).
• Supervisory oversight: weekly checks by the supervisor at EMS.
• Provision of all equipment, including:
• 2 x Garden Forks
• 2 x Garden Spades
• Gloves and protective clothing
• Refuse bags for waste collection
• Use of an attendance register to record daily work, which must be attached to invoices.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and institutional policies.
• Availability of a gardener to cover sick leave or absence, without using government vehicles for transportation.
• Adherence to specified working hours and conditions, including no home fetching or taking gardeners in government vehicles.
