Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit qualified contractors to undertake the reinstatement of Thompsons Bay Beach, ensuring the restoration aligns with municipal standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Reinstatement of Thompsons Bay Beach as specified in the tender documentation.
• Site inspection and participation in a compulsory clarification meeting and site visit.
• Completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe and specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Registration with CIDB in a contractor grading of 5CE or higher, with proof of registration required by the closing date.
• Registration on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database.
• Payment of a non-refundable fee of R 866.00 (inclusive of VAT) for tender document collection.
• Submission of tenders in sealed envelopes, endorsed with the tender number and project title.
• Attendance at a compulsory clarification meeting and site inspection scheduled for 20 August 2025 at 10H00.
• Adherence to evaluation criteria including project experience, key personnel expertise, plant and equipment, and functionality scoring with a minimum of 60 points required for further consideration.
• Compliance with procurement policies, legislation, and specific goals such as being an EME or QSE at least 51% owned by Black people.
• Provision of proof of municipal rates and taxes status, tax compliance, and relevant local address verification.
• Sub-contracting 30% of the contract value to an EME owned by Black people if the tender exceeds R4 million.
