The primary objective of this tender is to acquire sophisticated digital forensic tools and hardware (DFTH) to enhance the City of Cape Town’s (CCT) forensic investigation capabilities. The goal is to provide the department with advanced software, hardware, and training to efficiently acquire, analyze, handle, and store digital evidence, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements. The solution aims to facilitate seamless end-to-end workflows for digital evidence management, electronic discovery (eDiscovery), and forensic analysis, thereby improving investigation accuracy, speed, and reliability.

The tools and hardware must support a comprehensive digital forensic workflow, from evidence acquisition to analysis and reporting, with capabilities to handle various device types, data formats, and encryption. The scope also includes ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 27037, ISO 27050, ISO 27042, ISO 27018, ISO 27001) and legal frameworks, including POPIA and other applicable legislation.
