Objectives

Scope

The scope of this tender encompasses the supply of Re-inforced Endotracheal Tubes to LadySmith Regional Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, under the Department of Health. It includes the provision of tubes in various sizes (e.g., sizes 7, 7.5, 8), conforming to specified standards, and the delivery of these items within the contract period. The scope also covers compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and relevant procurement policies, including preference points and regulatory requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Reinforced endotracheal tubes with spiral wound wire embedded within the wall to prevent kinking.
• Made of clear, soft PVC material with a high-volume, low-pressure cuff.
• Tip designed to be smooth and atraumatic to reduce airway trauma.
• Standard size connector and radiopaque line integrated into the tube for X-ray visualization.
• Available in sizes 7, 7.5, and 8 units.
• Compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) or equivalent specifications.
• Manufactured or distributed by a company with valid licensing from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).
• Samples, if required, must be provided upon request, though in this case, samples are not mandated.
• Documentation must include certification of standards compliance and technical specifications approval by end-users and SCM representatives.
