Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the installation of scaffolding at the Tanker Basin in the Port of Cape Town. The services are required on an "as and when" basis for a period of 12 months, ensuring safe and compliant scaffolding solutions to support port operations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of scaffolding supply and erection, including fixed/tower and drop scaffolding.
• Dismantling of scaffolding structures.
• Labor rates for work conducted Monday to Sunday, with specific rates for each day.
• Submission of a safety file and a letter of good standing prior to commencement.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, health and safety regulations, and contractual requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the services include:

• Supply and erection of fixed/tower scaffolding and drop scaffolding as per specifications.
• Dismantling of scaffolding structures after completion of tasks.
• Provision of labor for scaffolding work on specified days.
• Adherence to health and safety standards, including PPE requirements.
• Provision of a safety file and proof of good standing prior to work start.
• Pricing must include company overheads, insurance, compliance costs, and other contractual obligations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in scaffolding supply, erection, and dismantling in port or similar environments.
• Competence in adhering to health and safety standards and legislation.
• Capability to provide labor rates for different days and times.
• Ability to submit necessary compliance documentation, including safety files and good standing certificates.
• Knowledge of port operations and safety protocols specific to the Tanker Basin environment.
• Technical expertise in scaffolding design, installation, and dismantling processes.
