Objectives

The tender aims to procure Catheter Thoracic Drainage PVC devices to meet the clinical needs of Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital, ensuring the supply of sterile, disposable, thermosensitive PVC catheters with specific features such as clear material, radiopaque line, and appropriate sizes (26FG, 28FG, 32FG). The procurement supports the hospital’s capacity to deliver effective thoracic drainage services and comply with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various units of Catheter Thoracic Drainage PVC, including different sizes and specifications, to the hospital located at 310 Bhejane Street, Kwamashu. The contract covers the provision of approved medical devices, submission of samples if required, and adherence to technical and administrative requirements outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Sterile, single-use, disposable thoracic catheters made of clear PVC.
• Thermosensitive PVC with numerical depth marks at 2cm increments for precise placement.
• Positioning and beveled connector that can be cropped to form an integral, funeral connector.
• Radiopaque line, smooth side eyes, open distal tip, and depth markings.
• Available in sizes: 26FG, 28FG, and 32FG, with rigid ESCON tube pack.
• Compliance with relevant standards such as SABS or SANS, and approval from SAPHRA.
• Samples may be required by the hospital for evaluation before award.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate technical capability to supply approved medical devices meeting the specified standards.
• Provision of proof of compliance with regulatory standards (SABS, SANS, SAPHRA approval).
• Ability to deliver the required quantities within the specified contract period.
• Experience in supplying medical devices to healthcare facilities, with evidence such as previous orders and delivery notes.
