Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver marked dunnages to Transnet SOC Limited operating as Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) at the MPT Point Terminal for a period of thirty-six (36) months on an as-and-when-required basis. The service aims to ensure the protection of cargo (especially abnormal/project cargo) from damages during offloading and stacking, by providing treated wooden dunnage marked with red paint at both ends, meeting specific standards such as ISPM 15.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supplying and delivering 1,000 marked dunnage pieces per month for 36 months.
• Specifications of dunnage: 100cm x 100cm x 2.5m, treated to meet ISPM 15 standards, marked with red paint at both ends.
• Marking with the ISPM 15 compliant mark to prevent pest spread.
• Provision of the service at the Durban MPT Point Terminal.
• Compliance with safety, health, environment, and security standards issued by TPT.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of 1000 x dunnage pieces monthly, marked with red paint at both ends.
• Wood must be treated to meet ISPM 15 standards and marked accordingly.
• Delivery to be on an as-and-when-required basis over 36 months.
• Adherence to safety, SHE, and security protocols, including submission of SHE files and PPE requirements.
• All supplied dunnage must be in new, unused condition, complying with relevant standards.
• Pricing must be fixed and firm, expressed in South African Rand inclusive of VAT.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying treated wooden dunnage or similar cargo protection materials.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards such as ISPM 15.
• Competence in adhering to safety, health, environment, and security protocols.
• Capability to deliver on a monthly basis over a 36-month period, with reliable logistics and supply chain management.
• Understanding of compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the supply of timber products.
• Experience in working within port terminal environments and complying with Transnet’s procurement and safety standards.
