Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Cataract Set for Ngwelezane Hospital to support cataract surgeries and related procedures, ensuring the availability of essential ophthalmic instruments that meet specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of six (6) units of Cataract Sets, comprising various surgical instruments as detailed in the specifications. The procurement is a once-off purchase intended to equip the hospital's surgical department with the necessary tools for cataract operations.

Technical Requirements

The Cataract Set must conform to the detailed specifications provided, including:

• Instruments such as Lieberman speculum, K-Wire, Jones towel clamp, Rosen phaco splitter, Kuglen iris hook, Jaffe-Bechert rotator, Lester IOL manipulator, Westcott tenotomy scissors, Castrovejo caliper, Colibri forceps, Fechner conjunctiva forceps, Tying forceps (straight and curved), Utrata capsulorrhexes forceps, Kelman-Mcpherson forceps, Ernest-McDonald IOL inserter, Livernois IOL folder, Katena needle holder, Ernest nuclear cracker, Keuch pupil dilator, bipolar forceps, nuclear chopper, Vannas scissors, Sinsky hook, Sinskey hook, and a padded instrument tray.
• Instruments must meet the attached specifications and standards, with samples available for evaluation if requested.
• Instruments should be of current models, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.
• The set must be supplied with appropriate packaging to prevent damage during transit.
