Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the repair of kitchen extraction fans at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, ensuring that the work meets specified technical and safety standards. The process aims to select a qualified service provider capable of delivering the required repairs in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• Repair and maintenance of kitchen extraction fans as detailed in the specifications.
• Installation of electrical components including motors, contactors, overloads, and associated wiring.
• Commissioning and testing of the repaired systems to ensure proper operation.
• Provision of all necessary materials, tools, and documentation required for the completion of the work.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety standards during all phases of the project.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply and installation of two 380V, 3-phase flanged motors (10 Amps, 5.5 kW).
• Installation of 2 contactors and 2 overloads suitable for 5.5 kW and 6.6 Amps.
• All electrical work must be neat, properly secured, and compliant with electrical safety standards.
• Issuance of a Certificate of Compliance (COC) for all electrical work.
• Commissioning of systems to verify correct operation, including input/output checks and mechanical and electrical calibration.
• Provision of operation explanations and hand-over manuals.
• Compliance with specified safety, quality, and environmental standards as detailed in the specifications.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified electrical artisans with relevant certifications and experience in industrial electrical installations.
• Proven competence in installing, commissioning, and maintaining kitchen ventilation systems and electrical components.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical work and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to prepare and submit comprehensive work plans, safety files, and technical documentation.
• Experience in working within healthcare or similar sensitive environments, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with health and safety protocols.
