Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of ten (10) service providers for the supply and delivery of SABS-approved personal protective clothing (PPE) for Animal Production across all ARC outstations in South Africa. The appointed providers will supply PPE on an "as and when required" basis over a period of three (3) years, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and supporting ARC’s mandate for agricultural research and safety.

Scope and Extent of Work

The scope includes providing detailed specifications for SABS-approved PPE suitable for various animal production sites nationwide, as outlined in Annexure A. Bidders must submit comprehensive costing for all specified items and clearly state the total for Annexure A in their financial proposals. The work involves sourcing, supplying, and delivering PPE such as suits, jackets, trousers, boots, gloves, goggles, and other protective gear, tailored for different sectors like laboratories, animal handling, abattoirs, and farms.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of PPE that meets SABS approval standards.
• Delivery within 30 days of receiving a purchase order.
• Provision of detailed costing aligned with Annexure A specifications.
• Participation in evaluation phases including pre-compliance, functionality, and price/goal assessments.
• Adherence to ARC’s procurement policies and guidelines, including preference points for specific goals.
• Provision of all required documentation such as CSD registration, tax compliance, B-BBEE certificates, and local content declarations.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Experience in sourcing and supplying PPE across various sectors and environments.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver a range of PPE items with supporting purchase orders and delivery notes from the past three years.
• Financial capacity to supply PPE valued at a minimum of R50,000, supported by relevant invoices and delivery documentation.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards specified in Annexure A.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, health and safety standards, and local content requirements.
• Capacity to participate in evaluation criteria including functionality, price, and specific goals, with evidence of previous successful supply and delivery of PPE.
