Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver gastroenterology consumables to all hospitals and institutions under the control of the Department of Health, Western Cape Provincial Government, for a period ending 31 April 2027. The aim is to ensure the provision of high-quality, sterile, latex-free gastroenterology consumables that meet specified standards, including ISO 13485 certification and SAHPRA licensing, to support clinical procedures across healthcare facilities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and associated services of a wide range of gastroenterology consumables, including needles, forceps, snares, stents, retrieval devices, catheters, tubes, clips, and related accessories. The items must comply with specified technical standards, sterilization protocols, and safety requirements, including latex-free and DEHP-free declarations. Delivery must be made to multiple designated hospitals and clinics across the Western Cape, with samples submitted for clinical evaluation, and adherence to specified packaging, labeling, and documentation standards.

Technical Requirements

• All products must be sterile, latex-free, BPA-free, and compliant with ISO 13485 standards.
• Items must be registered with SAHPRA and have valid licenses; sterilization standards (ISO 17665-1, ISO 11135, ISO 11137, etc.) must be met.
• Products must be compatible with existing endoscopic equipment, with specific sizes, lengths, and features as detailed in the specifications.
• Items must be individually packaged with clear labeling, including manufacturer details, batch number, sterilization standard, and latex/BPA status.
• Delivery must occur within specified timeframes: within 21 days of the first order, and 48-72 hours for subsequent orders.
• Samples of each product must be submitted for clinical testing, with evaluation reports provided.
• Pricing must be in ZAR, inclusive of VAT and delivery costs, with options for firm prices or prices linked to ROE variations.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven manufacturing capability with ISO 13485 certification for medical devices.
• SAHPRA licensing for all relevant products, with valid licenses for manufacturing, distribution, or wholesaling.
• Experience in supplying sterile medical consumables to healthcare institutions, with a track record of compliance with international sterilization standards.
• Ability to provide detailed documentation, including safety data sheets, sterilization certificates, latex-free declarations, and quality management certificates.
• Capability to deliver products within specified timeframes and to multiple locations across the Western Cape.
• Technical expertise in endoscopic and gastroenterological equipment, ensuring product compatibility and clinical efficacy.
• Strong quality assurance processes, including sample testing, clinical evaluation, and ongoing quality compliance monitoring.
