Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 150 units of the LMA Fastrach Stabilizer Rod for use in difficult intubation procedures. Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply and delivery of 150 units of the LMA Fastrach Stabilizer Rod to Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. It includes compliance with technical specifications, adherence to regulatory standards, and timely delivery within the contract period. The procurement process also involves evaluation of samples, verification of specifications, and adherence to departmental policies and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• The stabilizer rod must be compatible with the LMA Fastrach ETT sizes 6.0mm, 6.5mm, 7.0mm, 7.5mm, and 8.0mm.
• The device must be compatible with Fastrach SU airway sizes 3, 4, and 5.
• The stabilizer must be made of 100% silicone material.
• The product must conform to relevant standards and specifications, including SABS, SANS, or other applicable regulatory approvals.
• The item should be suitable for repeated re-use if specified, and must meet all safety and quality standards for medical devices.
• Samples must be submitted for evaluation, and the supplied product must match the specifications provided.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate compliance with all regulatory and certification requirements, including valid licenses issued by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).
• The bidder should have proven experience in supplying medical devices of similar nature and complexity.
• The bidder must provide proof of previous successful deliveries to healthcare facilities, including relevant order and delivery notes.
• The bidder must have the capacity to produce or supply the stabilizer rods in accordance with technical specifications and within the stipulated delivery period.
• The bidder should possess the technical expertise to provide after-sales support, including warranty services and technical assistance if required.
• The bidder must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide valid registration documentation.
