Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure surgical blades for Ngwelezane Hospital to meet their surgical needs. The process aims to select qualified suppliers who can provide quality surgical blades that conform to specified standards, ensuring safety and efficacy in medical procedures.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 3,000 units of surgical blades, covering various types such as:

• Surgical Crescent Knives (angled, 45 degrees, bevel up, 2.6 mm)
• Surgical Slit Knives (angled, 45 degrees, double bevel up, 2.75 mm)
• 15 Degree Blades (15 degrees, 1.5 tip depth)

The procurement is a once-off purchase, with delivery expected within a specified period, and includes compliance with technical and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the surgical blades are as follows:

• Manufactured to meet attached detailed specifications
• Conformity to relevant standards (e.g., SANS/SABS)
• Samples may be requested for evaluation purposes
• Delivery within a maximum of 15 working days from the date of award
• All blades must be new, unused, and of current models with recent design improvements
• Suppliers must provide samples for testing if requested
