Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to complete construction works at Nkwezana Primary School within a period of 24 months. The project aims to deliver a fully constructed and operational school facility in Buffalo City Municipality, adhering to specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes the construction completion of Nkwezana Primary School, encompassing all related building works, site preparations, and infrastructure development as detailed in the scope of works (Part C3). The project involves delivering a fully functional school facility within the stipulated timeframe, including site clearance, building works, and finishing as per the drawings and specifications provided.

Technical Requirements

• Construction based on the JBCC Principal Building Agreement Edition 6.2 of 2018.
• Works to comply with the Standard Conditions of Tender (SANS 10845-3) and relevant standards.
• Provision of all necessary insurances, including contract works insurance, public liability, and high-risk insurance where applicable.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety regulations, including the submission of a health and safety plan.
• Completion of works within the specified period, with provisions for practical completion, defect liability, and penalties for late completion.
• Provision of detailed project documentation, including drawings, site information, and Bills of Quantities.
• Compliance with environmental and site-specific restrictions, including barricading and site security.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Contractors must hold a CIDB grading of Grade 8 GB or higher in General Building (GB).
• Proven experience in delivering similar construction projects within the required timeframe and scope.
• Qualified personnel including project managers, site agents, safety officers, and technical specialists.
• Ability to demonstrate relevant project references, including at least three successfully completed projects of similar size and complexity.
• Capacity to mobilize resources, plant, and machinery necessary for the timely completion of the project.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental management standards.
• Registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database and proof of CIDB certification.
