Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of alarm system panels, smoke detectors, sensors, and fire equipment at Hlengisizwe CHC and associated clinics. The aim is to ensure that fire detection and alarm systems are maintained in optimal working condition, complying with safety standards and legal requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing and maintenance of alarm system panels and smoke detectors/sensors.
• Servicing of fire equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers (various types and sizes), fire hydrants, and fire alarm systems.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with standards (e.g., SANS 1475).
• Provision of reports, certificates of compliance, and documentation for all serviced equipment.
• Promotion of enterprise development within the catchment area of the institution.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of alarm panels and smoke detectors in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant standards.
• Inspection and testing of fire hoses, extinguishers, hydrants, and fire detection sensors.
• Hydrostatic testing and internal inspection of fire extinguishers, with certification of their fitness for use.
• Leak testing, flow rate measurement, and operational checks for hose reels and fire equipment.
• Compliance with SANS 1475 standards for fire equipment maintenance.
• Provision of certificates of compliance post-servicing.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act and Department of Health standards.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified technicians registered with SAQCC or relevant professional bodies for servicing fire equipment and hose reels.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems.
• Knowledge of SANS 1475 standards and relevant safety regulations.
• Ability to produce detailed reports, certificates, and documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Capacity to carry out emergency repairs and provide technical support as needed.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety requirements during service execution.
