Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for the servicing of alarm systems, panels, smoke detectors, sensors, fire equipment, and associated fire safety infrastructure at Hlengisizwe CHC and satellite clinics. The aim is to ensure that all fire detection and alarm systems are maintained in optimal working condition, compliant with safety standards, and capable of providing reliable early warning in case of fire or smoke incidents.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing and maintenance of alarm systems, panels, smoke detectors, and sensors at Hlengisizwe CHC and other specified clinics.
• Servicing of fire equipment such as fire hoses, portable fire extinguishers (various sizes and types), fire hydrants, and fire alarm systems.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., SANS 1475).
• Provision of reports, certificates of compliance, and documentation for all serviced equipment.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Site visits, inspections, and compliance checks as required.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of alarm systems and smoke detectors in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant standards.
• Maintenance of fire hoses, extinguishers, and hydrants, including pressure testing, internal inspections, hydrostatic testing, and recharging where applicable.
• Certification of fire equipment post-servicing, including compliance certificates.
• Use of SAQCC-registered technicians for all servicing activities.
• Compliance with SANS 1475 standards for hose reels and fire extinguishers.
• Proper documentation and reporting of all maintenance activities, including flow rate tests, leak tests, and pressure tests.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety legislation during execution.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified and SAQCC-registered technicians with expertise in fire safety equipment maintenance.
• Experience in servicing and certifying alarm systems, smoke detectors, and sensors.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS 1475 and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Capability to conduct pressure tests, hydrostatic testing, leak detection, and certification procedures.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports, certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Proven track record in servicing fire safety equipment within healthcare or similar institutional settings.
