Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver a comprehensive range of cardiothoracic surgery consumables, interventional cardiology requirements, and cardiovascular surgery consumables to central hospitals under the control of the Department of Health and Wellness, Western Cape Government. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality medical devices and accessories for a period of three years, with an option to extend for an additional two years, supporting effective cardiovascular healthcare services.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and potential extension of a wide array of cardiothoracic and interventional cardiology consumables, including but not limited to:

• Sheaths, catheters, balloons, guide wires, occluders, and delivery systems
• Implantable devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, stents, and occluders
• Specialized accessories including connectors, sheaths, and extension wires
• Diagnostic and imaging catheters, guide wires, and electrophysiology tools
• Thrombolysis delivery catheters, ablation systems, and related accessories
• Sterile covers, sheaths, and other procedural accessories
• Additional specialized devices for structural heart interventions, thrombus management, and vascular access

The scope also includes the provision of electronic bid submissions, mandatory documentation, and adherence to specified delivery timelines as per the tender requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify the need for high-quality, certified, and industry-standard consumables and devices, including:

• Product specifications such as sizes, types, and compatibility with existing systems
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including sterilization and packaging
• Provision of detailed product information, brands, and technical datasheets
• Delivery timelines aligned with the Department’s operational needs
• Electronic submission of bid documents, including Excel templates and PDF copies
• Pricing to be quoted per single item, not per packaging unit, with indication of packaging units
• Validity period of 90 days from bid closing date

Skills and Skills Requirements

The skills and expertise required from bidders include:

• Proven experience in supplying medical consumables and devices for cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery
• Technical knowledge of cardiovascular devices, including implantable and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to provide detailed product specifications, datasheets, and certifications
• Competence in electronic bid submission, including Excel and PDF documentation
