Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and replace the dilapidated vertical blinds with roll-up Nash block-out blinds, and to install ceramic floor tiles at the Executive Building. The project aims to refurbish and upgrade the interior furnishings and finishes to meet specified standards and end-user requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and installation of roll-up Nash block-out blinds (PQ807 Pepper) in specified sizes for office windows.
• Replacement of damaged ceiling tiles and installation of suspended ceiling boards.
• Removal and disassembly of existing furniture, and reinstallation post-work completion.
• Provision and installation of ceramic floor tiles, including under-tile floor heating and related finishes.
• Painting interior walls with specified paints, including wall paper application.
• Painting window jambs, sills, and wooden frames.
• Additional works such as installing kitchen cupboards, quartz countertops, sinks, and lighting replacements.
• Other minor repairs and maintenance as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with CIDB Grading 2 GB or higher.
• Use of specified materials such as grade A ceramic tiles, Sheen paint with a 7-10 year guarantee, and specific blind models.
• Installation of blinds with precise dimensions and specifications.
• Earth resistance testing before and after tile installation for under-tile heating.
• Replacement of faulty lighting with specified LED fittings.
• Provision of guarantees for installed products, such as the 7-10 year warranty on paint.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards as per SABS specifications where applicable.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Competence in installing blinds, ceiling tiles, and ceramic flooring.
• Experience in painting and wall finishing works, including wallpaper application.
• Capability to perform electrical work related to lighting replacements and servicing HVAC units.
• Ability to undertake minor carpentry and joinery tasks such as kitchen cupboard installation and countertop fitting.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including earth resistance testing and working in occupied office environments.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant technical skills and experience in building refurbishment projects.
