Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure servicing of the alarm system, including the alarm panel, smoke detectors, and sensors at Hlengisizwe CHC. Additionally, the scope includes servicing fire equipment such as hoses, extinguishers, fire hydrants, and smoke detectors across multiple clinics and health posts within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Servicing and maintenance of alarm systems, panels, smoke detectors, and sensors at Hlengisizwe CHC.
• Servicing of fire equipment including hoses, portable fire extinguishers (various sizes and types), fire hydrants, and smoke detectors at multiple clinics (Msonduzi, Shongweni Dam, Mpumalanga, Fredville, Bhobhonono, Ntshongweni, Peaceville, and others).
• Servicing of fire hoses, fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and smoke detectors as per standards (SANS 1475) and legal requirements.
• Inspection, leak testing, hydrostatic testing, recharging, lubrication, and certification of fire equipment.
• Site inspections, compliance certificates, and detailed reporting for all serviced equipment.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of alarm systems, smoke detectors, and sensors as described in the Bill of Quantities.
• Maintenance of fire hoses, fire extinguishers (9kg DCP, 4.5kg DCP, 2kg CO2), fire hydrants, and smoke detectors according to SANS 1475 standards.
• Hydrostatic testing and internal inspection of fire cylinders.
• Leak testing, flow rate measurement, flushing, cleaning, lubrication, resealing, and certification of fire equipment.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant standards.
• Provision of compliance certificates post-servicing.
• Proper documentation, including detailed reports and certificates of compliance.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to possess:

• SAQCC registration and certification for technicians servicing fire equipment and hose reels.
• Qualified personnel with expertise in fire safety standards, hydrostatic testing, and maintenance of fire safety equipment.
• Knowledge of SANS 1475 standards and legal requirements for fire equipment maintenance.
• Experience in servicing alarm systems, smoke detectors, sensors, and fire hydrants.
• Ability to conduct leak tests, flow rate assessments, hydrostatic tests, and internal inspections.
• Competence in preparing compliance certificates and detailed service reports.
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and proper site safety procedures.
