Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to conduct Occupational Medical Baseline Medicals for employees of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd (OBP). The provider will perform medical surveillance, identify and report health concerns, and issue Certificates of Fitness to ensure employee health and safety compliance.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Conducting medical examinations for 200 employees.
• Performing specific medical tests and assessments, including vision screening, sputum tests, vital signs measurement, ergonomics, shift work, and heights questionnaires.
• Providing Certificates of Fitness based on the medical evaluations.
• Utilizing compliant, calibrated, and well-maintained medical equipment, including mobile units if applicable.
• Reporting any health concerns identified during examinations.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and provide valid registration certificates.
• Own or have access to a mobile medical unit with proof of ownership.
• Use compliant, calibrated, and well-maintained medical equipment (proof required).
• Provide Certificates of Fitness upon completion of examinations.
• Ensure all medical assessments include vision tests, sputum tests, vital signs, ergonomics, shift work, heights questionnaires, and chest X-rays.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified occupational health practitioners registered with HPCSA.
• Experience in conducting occupational medical surveillance and baseline medicals.
• Ability to provide on-site medical services, including proof of ownership of mobile units.
• Provision of a company profile with relevant experience (minimum of 36 months).
• Submission of two reference letters from previous similar work.
• Completion and submission of the SBD4 declaration form.
