Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure medical scrubs, clinical coats, safety boots, and related PPE for healthcare personnel at KwaMashu Community Health Centre. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality protective clothing and footwear that meet infection control and safety standards, supporting healthcare workers in their duties.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of:

• Medical scrubs sets (tops and pants) in various sizes and colors
• Clinical coats (short-sleeve, with specific design features)
• Safety boots (PVC half safety boots with specified features)

The items are intended for use in pharmacy, maternity, and general healthcare departments within KwaMashu CHC, with specifications covering material, design, sizes, and compliance standards. The procurement is a once-off purchase, with delivery to the specified KwaMashu facility.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to specified standards, including material composition (e.g., polyester 65%, cotton 35%), durability, and infection control policies.
• Clothing must be durable, washable, and suitable for frequent laundering.
• Design features include appropriate sizing, reinforced seams, multiple pockets, and secure closures.
• Safety boots must have slip-resistant soles, puncture-resistant material, easy-to-clean features, and no holes.
• Samples must be provided for testing and approval before final procurement.
• Items must meet hospital infection control policies and relevant standards (e.g., SANS/SABS).
