Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure N95 masks (Mask N95) that meet specified safety, quality, and performance standards for use at Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of certified, reliable PPE to protect against airborne particles, blood, body fluids, and other hazards, thereby supporting health and safety protocols within the hospital environment.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 90 boxes of N95 masks, designed for single use, to Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement includes adherence to detailed specifications, certification requirements, and delivery to the designated hospital department within the specified timeframe. The process involves submission of samples, compliance with technical standards, and adherence to procurement policies.

Technical Requirements

• The masks must be designed for safety and comfort, fluid resistant, and aid in reducing exposure to blood, body fluids, and airborne particles.
• The masks should be duckbill-shaped for single use, with ties or elastic attachments for secure fit.
• The masks must be approved N95 particulate respirators with proof of certification.
• Filtration efficiency must be >99.9% bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE).
• Breathability differential filtration: 5.0mm H2O/cm2.
• Container must include Lot No., manufacturing and expiry dates, and manufacturer contact details.
• Supply must comply with SABS/SANS standards and relevant certifications.
• Supply must include a shelf life statement; failure to do so results in disqualification.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven ability to supply certified PPE products that meet national and international standards.
• Experience in handling government procurement processes, including submission of samples and technical documentation.
• Capability to provide proof of certification (SABS/SANS) and relevant quality standards.
• Ability to deliver within the specified timeframe and to the designated location.
• Knowledge of compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
• Capacity to participate in site inspections, provide technical support, and respond to queries regarding product specifications.
