Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the supply and delivery of clean drinking water at various sites within the Northern Gauteng Region over a period of 24 months. The aim is to ensure continuous access to potable water at designated locations, supporting operational needs and emergency requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of clean drinking water to multiple stations, depots, and office sites within the North Gauteng Region, all located within the City of Tshwane.
• Provision of water in various container types, including open head drums with lids and water tank trucks equipped with pumps and hoses.
• Delivery of specified quantities of water (e.g., 5,000L, 10,000L, 20,000L, 30,000L) as per the schedule.
• Responding to emergency shutdowns or repair work by providing additional water within 4 hours using drums or containers.
• Ensuring water quality, safety, and compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of polyethylene or steel tanks for water transportation, suitable for potable water and resistant to corrosion.
• Provision of water tankers equipped with pumps and hoses for efficient offloading.
• Delivery of water into designated holding tanks, with additional water supplied via drums or containers during emergencies.
• Water must be maintained in a clean, drainable condition, free from contamination, with a regular cleaning schedule submitted for approval.
• Adherence to permits, health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety Act compliance.
• Provision of safety files, risk assessments, and proof of compliance prior to work commencement.
• Timely response to delivery requests, within 4 hours, and completion of work within specified timeframes.

Skills and Competency Requirements

The contractor must demonstrate:

• Experience in the transportation and delivery of potable water, especially in bulk quantities.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to water delivery and transportation.
• Capability to operate and maintain water tankers, pumps, and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant certifications, including SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) officers and first aiders.
• Ability to prepare and submit safety files, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
• Effective communication skills and availability of a 24/7 contact number for emergency response.
• Proven track record in delivering similar services within the public sector or large-scale operations.
