Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint additional service providers who will be accredited to support the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) database by provisioning immediate humanitarian relief. This support aims to assist in the event of disasters and/or incidents within the Eastern Cape over a period of 36 months, ensuring rapid response and relief to affected individuals, households, and communities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of immediate humanitarian relief items during disasters or incidents as determined by SASSA through assessments.
• Activation of services within specified timeframes and areas, including various districts and localities listed in the Terms of Reference.
• Delivery of relief items such as mattresses, baby packs, vanity packs, and other essential supplies to designated disaster sites.
• Compliance with legislative, technical, and quality standards, including local content requirements.
• Monitoring and reporting on service delivery and compliance throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Provision of goods that meet specified specifications, including quality and safety standards.
• Transporting relief items to disaster sites within the designated areas.
• Ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation (delivery notes, invoices, signed receipts).
• Compliance with food safety standards (e.g., valid Certificate of Acceptability from local municipalities).
• Adherence to local content thresholds for specified items (e.g., blankets, facecloths, mattresses).
• Participation in briefings and compliance with contractual and legislative obligations.
• Implementation of contingency plans for unforeseen disruptions (e.g., power outages, industrial actions).

Skills Requirements
