Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the eradication and control of pests, vermin, and related infestations at Pomeroy Cluster Clinics. The aim is to ensure a pest-free environment across multiple clinics over a specified contract period, maintaining health and safety standards in line with South African health regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of pest control services including insect, rodent, bird, and wildlife management.
• Supply, installation, and maintenance of bait stations and traps.
• Regular scheduled visits (monthly) for pest monitoring, treatment, and reporting.
• Supply and application of approved chemicals and pest control materials.
• Inspection, documentation, and record-keeping of treatments and pest activity.
• Control of pests in various areas including clinics, storerooms, electrical rooms, roofs, and external areas.
• Contract duration of 36 months with specific service schedules and reporting requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of approved, non-toxic, and environmentally safe chemicals compliant with SA health standards.
• Implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approaches, including chemical treatments, traps, and exclusion methods.
• Supply and installation of tamper-resistant bait stations and traps at strategic locations.
• Monthly inspections, treatment, and maintenance activities, including record-keeping and reporting.
• Provision of safety data sheets, service reports, trend analysis, and compliance documentation.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations throughout service delivery.
• Registration with relevant authorities such as CIDB and Department of Agriculture.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified personnel with appropriate certifications (e.g., NQF Level 4 or higher for technicians).
• Experience in pest control within healthcare or similar sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of SA health regulations, chemical safety, and environmental standards.
• Capability to prepare and implement detailed service schedules and reports.
• Ability to handle and dispose of chemicals safely and in compliance with safety data sheet requirements.
• Proven track record of successful pest management projects, supported by references.
• Compliance with registration and licensing requirements with relevant authorities (e.g., CIDB, Department of Agriculture, SARS).
