Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Carpet Cleaning Service for the AmaJuba District Office. The service aims to ensure that carpets within the facility are thoroughly cleaned, free of dust, stains, and debris, and maintained to a high standard of hygiene and appearance.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Deep cleaning of carpets in various areas including offices, passageways, store rooms, boardrooms, and other designated spaces within the AmaJuba District Office.
• Preparation, debris removal, vacuuming, high moisture hot water extraction, pre-treatment, post-cleaning drying, deodorizing, and repair of lifted or pealing carpet tiles.
• Provision of all necessary materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to carry out the cleaning services.
• Adherence to safety standards, including PPE usage and employment of a Safety Officer.
• Completion of cleaning within a specified contract period, which is once-off for this tender.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service include:

• Use of high-efficiency vacuum cleaners and high moisture hot water extraction equipment for deep cleaning.
• Application of pre-sprays or detergents in high traffic areas to loosen embedded soil.
• Drying of carpets using industrial air blower fans to ensure proper ventilation.
• Application of deodorizers to maintain freshness.
• Repair or re-gluing of any lifted or pealing carpet tiles during or after cleaning.
• Compliance with quality standards such as SABS.
• Registration with the National Contractor Cleaners Association and submission of relevant certification.
• Implementation of a safety plan, including PPE for workers and employment of a Safety Officer.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience and capacity to perform deep carpet cleaning services in a similar environment.
• Possession of appropriate cleaning equipment and tools capable of executing high-quality deep cleaning.
• Qualified and experienced personnel, including a Safety Officer if required.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and standards, including PPE usage.
• Capability to repair or reattach carpet tiles as needed during the cleaning process.
• Compliance with relevant industry standards and certification requirements.
