Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply surgical items, including high-risk powder-free gloves, N95 respirators, steam Bowie Dick test packs, and other related surgical consumables, to Othobothini Community Health Centre (CHC). The aim is to ensure the availability of quality surgical supplies that meet specified standards for protection, sterilization, and infection control, thereby safeguarding both patients and healthcare staff.

Scope

The scope covers the supply and delivery of various surgical items as detailed in the specifications, including:

• Particulate filtering N95 face piece respirators
• High-risk powder-free gloves for gynecological use
• Indicator steam Bowie Dick test packs

The procurement is a once-off supply, with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement. The items must conform to relevant standards and specifications, and delivery must be made to Othobothini CHC, Jozini.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• Respirators must be medical devices compliant with SANS 1866:2004 type 2, tested and certified by SANS, with valid NIOSH approval, and free from latex and glass materials.
• Steam Bowie Dick test packs must be made from virgin pulp paper with chemical indicators, fully compliant with ISO 11140-4, and capable of testing autoclave sterilization efficiency.
• High-risk gloves must be ambidextrous, textured, and meet ISO 2004 standards, with specified sizes and packaging (100 pairs per box).
