Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure calibration services for the Orbital platform shaker Model 262. The calibration aims to ensure the shaker's performance accuracy in terms of rotation speed (RPM), timer, and load capacity, maintaining consistent operation and compliance with industry standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Calibration of two Orbital shakers (Model 262).
• Verification of rotation speed (10-250 RPM) using calibrated tachometers or strobe lights, with a tolerance of 5% of the set value.
• Validation of timer functions (up to 120 minutes) against calibrated stopwatches, ensuring automatic halting at zero.
• Testing stability and performance under maximum load (e.g., 30kg) to confirm no deviation in RPM or platform balance.
• Provision of calibration certificates traceable to national standards (e.g., SANAS).

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the calibration services include:

• Verification of RPM accuracy across the full range (10-250 RPM) with industry-standard tolerance (5%).
• Assessment of timer accuracy for countdowns up to 120 minutes, ensuring correct automatic shutdown.
• Performance testing under maximum load conditions to ensure no deviation in RPM or platform balance.
• Provision of calibration certificates traceable to SANAS or equivalent national standards.

Skills and Certification Requirements

The supplier must demonstrate:

• Proof of SANAS accreditation for calibration services, with certification provided.
• Compliance with compulsory documentation, including a valid CSD report (for South African companies), SBD1 and SBD4 declarations.
• Ability to provide calibration services that meet industry standards and traceability requirements.
• Experience in calibrating orbital shakers or similar laboratory equipment.
