Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 20 units of digital wall-hung room thermometers for use at Port Shepstone Hospital. The thermometers are intended for checking indoor climate, room temperature, and relative air humidity, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of the specified digital wall-hung room thermometers to Port Shepstone Hospital’s Supply Chain Management Department, located at No. 7 Bazley Street, Port Shepstone, within the stipulated delivery period. The procurement covers all aspects from sourcing, quality certification, packaging, to delivery, ensuring the units meet the detailed specifications provided.

Technical Requirements

• The thermometers must be digital, capable of simultaneously displaying current, maximum, and minimum temperatures.
• Measurement range: -49.9°C to 69.9°C with a resolution of 0.1°C or °F.
• Housing: ABS case measuring approximately 29 x 80 x 180mm.
• Power: Powered by 1 x AA battery, with an on/off button, timer, and LCD recall data display.
• Additional features: Carry case included, with a slot for hanging, and the device must have a timer and recall function.
• Compliance with SABS/SANS standards or equivalent certification.
• Supply must include the specified accessories and be delivered during office hours, with no weekend or holiday deliveries.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to:

• Provide certified proof that the thermometers conform to relevant standards (SABS/SANS).
• Supply products with valid certification from the South African Bureau of Standards or equivalent.
• Ensure timely delivery and proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
• Offer after-sales support, including warranty services for a minimum period of 12 months.
• Provide technical documentation, product brochures, and data sheets to facilitate evaluation and verification.
• Comply with all administrative and statutory requirements, including tax compliance and registration with relevant authorities.
