Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of urological consumables, including catheters, drainage bags, and incontinence appliances, for all hospitals and institutions under the control of the Department of Health and Wellness, Western Cape Government, over a three-year period.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of a wide range of urological products as specified in the tender documents, including various types of catheters, drainage bags, incontinence pads, sheaths, and related accessories. The products must meet specified technical standards, be supplied in accordance with the detailed specifications, and delivered to designated healthcare facilities across the Western Cape within stipulated timeframes over the three-year contract period.

Technical Requirements

• All products must comply with relevant sterility standards (e.g., ISO 13485, specific sterilization standards such as ISO 17665-1, ISO 11135, ISO 11137).
• Items must be latex-free, latex-free declarations or certificates are required for applicable products.
• Manufacturers must hold valid SAHPRA licenses for medical devices and IVDs where applicable.
• Products must be supplied with valid ISO 13485/2016 Quality Management Certificates.
• Samples of each product type must be submitted for clinical evaluation, and products must meet clinical acceptability criteria.
• Product packaging must include necessary information such as batch/lot number, sterilization standard, and expiry date.
• Delivery must be made within specified timeframes: within 21 days of the first order, and 48-72 hours for subsequent orders.
• All products must be individually packaged, labeled, and delivered in cartons or boxes suitable for transport and storage.
• Pricing must be firm or clearly defined with applicable rate of exchange (ROE) adjustments, if any.
• Samples must be labeled and accompanied by evaluation forms, and additional samples should be available on request.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven manufacturing capability and compliance with ISO 13485 standards.
• Experience in supplying medical devices, particularly urological consumables, to healthcare institutions.
• Knowledge of sterilization standards and regulatory requirements (SAHPRA licensing).
• Ability to provide technical documentation, quality certificates, and sterilization validation reports.
• Capability to deliver products within specified timeframes and in accordance with quality standards.
• Experience in clinical evaluation and providing samples for clinical testing and approval.
• Competence in handling product labeling, packaging, and documentation as per tender specifications.
• Ability to provide after-sales support, including product warranties, repairs, and replacement of defective items.
