Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure oxygen masks that are 100% suitable for adult patients, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The procurement aims to supply high-quality, sterile oxygen masks with appropriate tubing to meet healthcare needs at Osindisweni Hospital.

Scope

The scope covers the supply and delivery of adult oxygen masks, including necessary accessories such as 2-meter oxygen tubing. The procurement process involves submission of samples, adherence to specifications, and compliance with relevant legislation and procurement policies. It applies to all bidders capable of providing the specified medical device within the stipulated contract period and price conditions.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of sterile, adult-sized, transparent oxygen masks capable of delivering 100% oxygen.
• Inclusion of 2-meter oxygen tubing with each mask.
• Masks must be clearly marked with directions for use, sterilization methods, batch number, expiry date, and supplier details.
• Expiry date of each unit must be at least 12 months from the date of delivery.
• Proof of certification such as SABS/SANS must be provided.
• Samples of the masks must be submitted for evaluation.
• All masks must conform to the specifications outlined in the technical document.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with relevant medical device standards and certification requirements (e.g., SABS/SANS).
• Provision of samples for technical assessment and conformity verification.
• Ability to supply the specified quantity within the contract period.
• Provision of valid licensing and registration documents from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) authorizing manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution of medical devices.
• Capability to meet delivery deadlines and ensure product quality and safety.
• Experience in supplying medical oxygen delivery devices and related products.
• Compliance with procurement legislation, including disclosure of any conflicts of interest and adherence to preferential procurement policies.
