Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to outsource a service provider responsible for the supply and delivery of pest control pesticides and equipment across all Area Military Health Units in nine provinces, for a period of 36 months. The aim is to ensure effective pest management, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and operational continuity in health units.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of various pest control products and equipment, including:

• Pesticides registered for public health use (e.g., baits, aerosols, fumigants, rodenticides, malaria vector control, termiticides, stored products, viral disinfectants)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, respirator masks, ear muffs, goggles
• Personal Protective Clothing including Tyvek suits, coveralls, chemical-resistant boots
• Application equipment like gel applicators and foggers

The delivery is to be made to all designated health units within the specified period, adhering to technical and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

• Products must be registered with the Department of Agriculture Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) with valid certification and P-numbers.
• Equipment and chemicals must conform to industry safety standards and be SABS approved.
• Labels and safety data sheets must be available, with chemical products displaying DALRRD's L-numbers.
• Suppliers must demonstrate a national footprint for support across all nine provinces.
• Ongoing training and technical support must be provided to all health units.
• Suppliers must be registered with relevant industry bodies such as the South African Pest Control Association (SAPCA) and CropLife.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations is mandatory.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in the supply and delivery of pest control pesticides and equipment, supported by awards or contracts from relevant institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical support, training, and maintenance services.
• Knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance standards related to pest control products and equipment.
• Capability to manage logistics across multiple provinces and health units efficiently.
• Registration with industry bodies such as PCIPC, SAPCA, and CropLife, with valid certificates.
• Ability to provide a comprehensive catalogue/brochure demonstrating product specifications and compliance.
