Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to undertake a Raw Water Contamination Project associated with the Majuba Internal Roads Refurbishment. The project aims to address issues related to raw water contamination over an 18-month duration, ensuring compliance with Eskom’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the execution of activities related to the remediation of raw water contamination at the Majuba site, including assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of quality performance. It involves both pre-contract assessments and post-contract performance monitoring to ensure project deliverables meet Eskom’s standards.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to Eskom’s Quality Requirements as specified in document 240-105658000 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Compliance with applicable clauses of the ISO 9001 standard, including context of the organization, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement.
• Implementation of special processes as outlined in clause 3.8.6 of the referenced standard.
• Fulfillment of specific contractual clauses related to quality audits, management of nonconformities, Eskom’s rights of access and information, and preservation of quality outputs.
• Site assessment and capability/capacity assessments of main and sub-suppliers as applicable.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience in water contamination assessment and remediation projects.
• Capability to conduct site assessments and capacity evaluations of suppliers.
• Strong understanding of Eskom’s contractual and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance post-contract award.
• Competence in managing nonconformities and conducting quality audits.
• Effective communication and documentation skills to complete and sign quality declarations and compliance forms.
