Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 20 boxes of 10 units each of CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) External Extension Catheters for Ngwelezane Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, to ensure the availability of quality medical devices that meet specified standards and standards of safety, including SABS approval. The procurement aims to support effective patient care and comply with relevant health standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of CAPD External Extension Catheters, including adherence to detailed specifications such as size, material, and quality standards (e.g., SABS approval). The procurement process involves submission of compliant quotations, technical specifications, and necessary documentation, with delivery to Ngwelezane Hospital within a specified period (once-off). The scope also includes compliance with the departmental procurement policies, preference points system, and mandatory administrative requirements.

Technical Requirements

• The catheter must be a CAPD External Extension with cups on both ends.
• Ends must be clamped with white 30 cm tubing.
• The product must conform to attached detailed specifications, including size, color, and material requirements.
• Must meet SABS approval standards.
• Samples are not required unless specified; if requested, samples must be provided on time.
• The product must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design improvements.
• Delivery must be completed within a maximum of 15 working days from the date of award.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with technical specifications and standards (e.g., SABS approval).
• Bidder must provide accurate and complete documentation, including the official price page, preference claim forms, and declaration forms.
• Bidder should have the capacity to supply the required quantity (20 boxes of 10 units each) within the stipulated delivery period.
• Bidder must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and hold valid licensing/authorization to manufacture or distribute medical devices, including SAPHRA registration if applicable.
• Bidder should possess the ability to provide technical support, quality assurance, and meet the specified standards.
• Experience in supplying similar medical devices and adherence to health and safety regulations are essential.
