Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a capable auctioneer to conduct the sale of eight (08) motor vehicles owned by the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure in the North Coast Region – Ulundi. The auctioneer will be responsible for organizing, advertising, conducting the auction, and providing a detailed report on the sale outcomes.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Conducting an auction of eight (08) departmental motor vehicles located at King Dinuzulu Highway, LA Administrative Building, Ulundi.
• Communicating the auction date with the Department prior to advertisement.
• Confirming the existence and condition of each vehicle before the auction.
• Advertising the auction and managing the sale process.
• Providing a post-auction report detailing assets sold, funds generated, and recommendations for unsold assets.
• Depositing all funds collected into the departmental bank account within ten (10) working days of the auction.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Proof of registration as a registered auctioneer with the South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA); valid documentary proof must be provided.
• Effective communication and coordination with the Department regarding auction dates and procedures.
• Conducting the auction at the specified location and ensuring proper advertising.
• Providing detailed reports post-auction, including sales breakdown and recommendations for unsold items.
• Ensuring all funds are deposited promptly and submitting deposit slips to the Department.
• Producing proof of advertising for the auction.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must possess:

• Proven experience and registration as an auctioneer with the South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA).
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with the Department and manage the auction process.
• Ability to conduct transparent and compliant auctions in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Capability to prepare comprehensive reports on the auction outcomes.
• Financial management skills to handle and deposit funds securely and promptly.
