Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service for washing machines, specifically focusing on maintenance, repair, and technical support to ensure the proper functioning of laundry and sluicing machines at Umzimkhulu Hospital.

Scope

The scope includes providing maintenance and repair services for laundry and sluicing washing machines at Umzimkhulu Hospital. The services encompass checking electrical connections, fixing glands, inspecting and replacing thermostats, bearings, belts, chains, motors, and emergency switches, as well as ensuring compliance with technical specifications. The contract is a once-off service, with the work to be completed within one month from the official order date.

Technical Requirements

• Inspection and rectification of electrical connections and circuits.
• Checking and fixing sparging and gland seals.
• Inspection and replacement of thermostats, bearings, belts, chains, and motors as necessary.
• Verification and rectification of emergency on/off switches.
• Compliance with the detailed technical specifications attached, including size, color, and material requirements.
• All work must adhere to the specified standards and be approved by the relevant authorities.
• All rates must be inclusive of transport, labor, and profit, with completion within 1 month of order.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technicians with experience in repairing laundry and sluicing washing machines.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including circuit inspection and repair.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and compliance standards (SABS/SANS).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults in washing machines.
• Capability to document and report on maintenance activities and compliance with technical standards.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to maintenance work in a hospital environment.
