Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure various surgical items required by Hillcrest Hospital to support its medical and resuscitation services. Scope

The scope of this tender includes the supply of various surgical items such as nasopharyngeal airways, endotracheal tubes, nasal cannula, resuscitator bags, laryngoscope handles and blades, IV cannulas, hypodermic needles, and duodenal Ryles tubes. The items are to be supplied in specified quantities and conform to attached specifications, including any addenda. The procurement covers all related administrative, technical, and logistical aspects necessary for the delivery of these surgical items to Hillcrest Hospital.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that all surgical items must:

• Comply with the detailed specifications provided in Annexure A, including size, material, and quality standards.
• Meet the quality standards approved by the end-user and listed in the specification form.
• Be supplied in units, boxes, or appropriate packaging as specified.
• Be free from samples, unless explicitly required, and must be supplied with the necessary documentation.
• Conform to the attached list of items and specifications, including any addenda.
• Be delivered within the agreed timeframe, with delivery details specified in the contract.
• Be insured against loss or damage during transit and storage.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements for bidders include:

• Demonstrated capability to supply medical and surgical items that meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Experience in supplying hospital-grade surgical equipment and consumables.
• Ability to comply with administrative and logistical requirements, including documentation, delivery timelines, and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS/SABS specifications.
• Capacity to provide technical support, if required, and to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provision of proof of compliance with specific goals, such as promoting South African owned enterprises, if claiming preference points.
