Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a panel of qualified health professionals to provide various occupational health, psychological, social, psychiatric, physiotherapy, and related services to Newcastle Municipality employees. The services aim to support employee well-being, health assessments, mental health interventions, injury management, and workplace health promotion over a 24-month period on an as-and-when-required basis.

Scope

The scope includes appointment of multiple service providers to form a panel of professionals such as:

• Occupational Health Practitioners / Doctors
• Clinical Psychologists
• Social Workers
• Psychiatrists
• Physiotherapists

Services encompass medical assessments, mental health interventions, workplace training, injury management, vaccinations, psychosocial support, and organizational consultation. The panel will operate on a rotational basis, with services rendered as required, and the contract duration is 24 months.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All professionals must be registered with their respective statutory bodies (e.g., HPCSA, SACSSP).
• Practices must be owned or leased within the Newcastle jurisdiction.
• Bidder must provide proof of registration, practice ownership, and relevant experience.
• Service providers must comply with all legislative, health, safety, and quality standards.
• Provision of specific services including assessments, counseling, therapy, injury management, vaccinations, and organizational support.
• Adherence to the bid specifications, including submission of required documentation and certifications.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required include:

• Registration with professional councils (HPCSA, SACSSP, etc.)
• Relevant experience in occupational health, mental health, social work, psychiatry, or physiotherapy
• Ability to conduct assessments, therapy, counseling, and workplace interventions
• Competence in organizational consultation, training, and development programs
• Proven track record in delivering similar services within a public sector or corporate environment
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Capacity to operate within legislative and ethical frameworks
