Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the purchase, collection, and removal of a 22/11kV, 1.25 MVA transformer at Tweekoppies Substation Strategic Yard. The successful bidder will be responsible for supplying the specified transformer, ensuring its safe collection, and overseeing its removal in compliance with Eskom’s standards and legal requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Procurement of a 22/11kV, 1.25 MVA transformer.
• Collection of the transformer from the designated location at Tweekoppies Substation.
• Removal and proper disposal or recycling of the transformer as per Eskom and statutory regulations.
• Adherence to all relevant safety, health, and environmental standards during the process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Provision of a transformer that meets the specified voltage and capacity ratings (22/11kV, 1.25 MVA).
• Compliance with Eskom’s technical standards and specifications for transformers.
• Safe handling, transportation, and removal procedures aligned with Eskom’s safety protocols.
• Proper documentation and certification confirming the transformer's specifications and compliance.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in handling, transporting, and removing electrical transformers of similar size and capacity.
• Knowledge of Eskom’s OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) requirements and legal obligations, including compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and the Compensation for Occupational Diseases and Illnesses Act 130 of 1993.
• Capability to manage contractors and suppliers, including conducting audits and assessments for OHS compliance.
• Ability to provide references and testimonials from previous similar projects.
• Qualified personnel with the necessary skills to ensure safe and compliant operations throughout the project.
