Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repairs of a faulty steam oven at KwaMagwaza Hospital. The aim is to ensure the steam oven is fully operational, addressing identified faults such as PC boards, motors, and leaking pipes, and to restore its full functionality for steam and roasting purposes.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Inspection, stripping, repairing, and replacing faulty components (e.g., PC boards, motors, leaking pipes).
• Identification and rectification of both known and unidentified faults to ensure the steam oven operates correctly (steam generation and roasting).
• Provision of urgent repairs as specified in the detailed technical specifications.
• Compliance with the detailed specifications and standards provided by the institution.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Inspection, stripping, and repair of the steam oven, including replacement of identified faulty parts such as PC boards, motors, and leaking pipes.
• Ensuring the oven fully operates in both steaming and roasting modes, including rectification of unidentified faults.
• Provision of trade test certificates for relevant technicians (fitter, electrician, instrumentation, electronics technician).
• Adherence to the specifications outlined in the annexure, including size, colour, material, and compliance with quality standards.
• Completion of all repairs to restore full operational capacity of the steam oven.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Trade test certificates in relevant technical fields such as fitting, electrical, instrumentation, or electronics.
• Technical expertise in repairing commercial steam ovens and aero steamers.
• Experience in diagnosing and rectifying faults in complex electrical and mechanical components of steam appliances.
• Ability to perform urgent repairs efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and specifications as per the institution’s requirements.
