Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitable geotechnical firm within the built-environment sector to undertake the design and construction oversight for the restoration of the HVAC system in Phase 1 of the Theatre Complex at Greys Hospital, under the KZN Department of Health.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of geotechnical services for the design phase of the HVAC system restoration project.
• Construction supervision and technical input during the implementation phase.
• Participation in the design and construction meetings, including the mandatory site meeting scheduled for 14 April 2026.
• Delivery of geotechnical assessments and reports relevant to the project site at Greys Hospital.

Technical Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to meet the following technical requirements:

• Relevant experience in geotechnical investigations and design within the built-environment sector.
• Capability to provide comprehensive geotechnical reports and recommendations aligned with the project scope.
• Compliance with applicable standards and regulations for geotechnical engineering.
• Availability to participate in project meetings and site inspections as scheduled.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder should possess:

• Qualified geotechnical engineers registered with the appropriate Professional Council.
• Proven experience in similar projects involving HVAC system restoration or related infrastructure within healthcare or similar facilities.
• Strong technical expertise in geotechnical assessments, design, and construction supervision.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and coordination with project stakeholders.
