Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and experienced broker to provide short-term insurance services to Msukaligwa Local Municipality for a period of 36 months.

Scope

The scope of the project involves the appointment of a broker responsible for arranging and managing short-term insurance cover for the municipality's assets and liabilities over a three-year period. The tender encompasses the provision of insurance brokerage services, including risk assessment, policy placement, and claims management.

Technical Requirements

• The service provider must be reputable and well experienced in short-term insurance brokerage.
• The provider must comply with the VAT Act.
• Payment of a non-refundable printing fee of R1000.00 is required to access tender documents.
• The tender process will follow the 90/10 price and preference point system as per the municipality's Supply Chain Management Policy.
• The selected broker must be capable of providing comprehensive short-term insurance solutions suitable for municipal assets and liabilities.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in short-term insurance brokerage, particularly within the public sector or municipal context.
• Knowledge of the VAT Act and compliance requirements related to insurance services.
• Ability to assess risks, advise on suitable insurance policies, and manage claims effectively.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and the preferential point system.
• Excellent communication and client management skills to liaise with municipal officials and stakeholders.
