Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a supplier capable of providing and delivering cleaning chemicals and consumables to Ushaka Marine World over a period of 36 months. The goal is to ensure a consistent supply of quality cleaning products that meet specified standards, supporting the operational needs of Ushaka Marine World efficiently and reliably.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of various cleaning chemicals such as dishwashing liquid, bleach, floor polish, floor stripper, sanitizer, air freshener, and disinfectants.
• Provision of cleaning consumables including refuse bags, gloves, microfibre cloths, hand pads, spray bottles, and masks.
• Delivery within 5 days of official purchase orders to Ushaka Marine World.
• Training personnel on the use and handling of supplied chemicals, including safety and safety data sheets.
• Compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the chemicals and consumables include:

• Compliance with relevant SANS standards (e.g., SANS 825:2017 for dishwashing liquid, SANS 1853:2020 for bleach, SANS 1042:2020 for floor polish).
• Provision of valid permits and certificates for chemicals supplied.
• Labels on containers must meet regulatory requirements, including safety instructions.
• Supply of Safety Data Sheets for each chemical product.
• Chemicals must meet specified physical and chemical properties, such as alcohol content for sanitizers and concentration for disinfectants.
• Delivery of specified quantities as per schedule, with flexibility for actual requirements.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from the service provider include:

• Knowledge of chemical safety, handling, and storage regulations.
• Ability to develop and implement safety files, conduct risk assessments, and develop safe operating procedures.
• Qualified personnel trained in the use of chemicals, including safe handling and emergency procedures.
• Experience in supply chain management, logistics, and timely delivery of chemicals and consumables.
• Capability to provide training to cleaning staff on chemical use and safety protocols.
• Registration and good standing with relevant authorities such as the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID).

The successful bidder must demonstrate technical expertise in chemical supply and safety, logistical capacity for timely delivery, and the ability to train and support staff in safe chemical handling practices.
