Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to procure services for the collection and removal of various empty scrapped cans/bottles and used papers at Camden Power Station in Mpumalanga. The contract is to be executed on an "as and when required" basis over a duration of 36 months, ensuring proper waste management and environmental compliance.

Scope

The scope encompasses the collection, removal, and proper disposal of scrapped cans, bottles, and used papers from Camden Power Station. The services are to be provided as needed throughout the 36-month period, with no fixed schedule, ensuring continuous waste management support for the station's operations.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of collection and removal services for specified waste materials (cans, bottles, papers).
• Adherence to environmental and safety standards during collection, transportation, and disposal.
• Use of appropriate equipment and vehicles compliant with Eskom safety and environmental regulations.
• Proper handling and segregation of waste materials to facilitate recycling and environmentally responsible disposal.
• Compliance with Eskom’s safety rules, including safety procedures for working at heights, electrical safety, and permit-to-work protocols.
• Monitoring and reporting on waste collection activities to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in waste collection and disposal services, particularly in industrial or power station environments.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and waste management best practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain collection equipment and vehicles safely and effectively.
• Understanding of Eskom’s safety standards and procedures, including permit systems and safety rules.
• Competence in compliance monitoring, reporting, and documentation related to waste management activities.
• Skills in safety awareness and adherence to zero-tolerance safety culture.
